Welcome to the City of Crystal River Welcome to our website. We have reorganized our website which we hope will make it easier for you to find what you need. Information is grouped by category; for example, all things relating to the operations of the City such as Councilmembers, Minutes & Agendas, City Departments etc. are located under City Government. The remaining categories will indicate the information provided in each category. It is our goal to continue to make the information on our website easily accessible, whether you are a resident or you are anticipating a visit to our City. Crystal River is located approximately 67 miles north of Tampa on the beautiful nature coast. We are often referred to as the “gem of the nature coast”. The City is bordered by the Crystal River (the City’s namesake) / Kings Bay, which has been classified by the State as an Outstanding Florida Water. The Crystal River is comprised of a network of more than 30 beautiful springs that begin at the northwest end of Kings Bay and travel west for about 6 miles entering into the Gulf of Mexico. In addition to water activities such as boating, fishing, diving and swimming, you can bike and/or hike nearby at the Withlacoochee State Trail. If you prefer more sedentary activities there is bird watching and of course, manatee watching. These are just a few of the things to do in Crystal River. Please come explore and enjoy the beauty of the “gem of the nature coast” there is always something to do or see! We look forward to your visit. Ronald E.
