City of Crystal River Announces New Channel Installation in Kings Bay
Crystal River, FL – July 25, 2024 – The City of Crystal River is excited to announce the commencement of the installation of markers defining a natural channel in Kings Bay. This significant infrastructure project aims to improve water navigation and enhance safety.
The new channel delineation will provide a clearer, safer route for boaters to navigate the bay through an existing natural channel East of Buzzard Island from Schatz Island to Banana Island. This development is a critical part of the city's ongoing efforts to clean up Kings Bay, enhance safety on the water, and preserve its natural beauty.
The channel is 100 yards wide and approximately 675 yards long, with clear markers. The new channel does not affect the sports zone that is active from June 1st to August 15th. Construction will begin within the next few weeks.
