About Public Works

The City of Crystal River Public Works Department is responsible for maintenance and construction of city streets, street signs, sidewalks, trees on the road right-of-ways, the stormwater system (swales, inlets, retention ponds, etc.); building improvements and maintenance; vehicle purchase and maintenance; mowing of the right-of-ways and parks, and water utilities. 

The Public Works Department has multi-functions on various tasks and activities to provide essential services for the city.  There are four departments under the Public Work Department:

  • Streets & Sidewalks

  • Stormwater Management

  • Fleet/Facilities Maintenance

  • Park Maintenance

  • Solid Waste & Recycling Collection

  • Rental of Park Pavilion/Gazebo

The Public Works Department is responsible for the operations and maintenance of the City's parks, streets, water and waste-water treatment and garbage collection.


Office staff members are the Director of Public Works, Capital Project Manager and the Executive Administrative Assistant.


The Director of Public Works oversees the the day to day operations and capital improvement projects.
